FlotoFoto, the modular floating PV plant for unused water basins developed by ESE

We have developed a floating PV solution. The scope is to bring flexibility and alternatives for power production to owners of unused water basins, such as flooded quarries and hydropower dams.

FlotoFoto is realized thanks to floating supports (designed by Tdock), tied together to place on their surface a PV system.

The main features of the system are the limitation of  water evaporation which can reach up to 50% and the higher efficiency with respect to a ground-mounted PV.

As a matter of facts, a floating PV plant can be up to 15% more efficient thanks to the natural cooling of the panels. Moreover, the system is able to produce up to 215 W/m2 of basin, is perfectly modular and can easily be coupled to irrigation pumps.

If you are curious to know more about it, don’t hesitate to contact us, we will be happy to answer all your questions.
